NPC Meeting Minutes
February 3, 2026
Welcome
Elton Scifres opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Nineteen attendees, including visitors, were present.
Business
Gallery Show Guidelines
Members may submit up to three new photos, provided they submit at least three new photos.
More than three new photos may be submitted.
“New” photos are defined as images taken after April 21, 2025.
Tentative submission date: May 26, 2026.
SAE – Nature Shots (Gallery Show Theme)
Toni Roddey requested volunteers to submit up to five “edgy nature shots” for discussion at the March meeting.
Photos are due by 11:00 a.m. on March 3 and should be emailed to tsroddey@gmail.com.

Open months: May, June, and September.

Topic: Nacogdoches Art Collaborative
CC Cortez – ARTS Center Vision
Proposed a dedicated ARTS Center including workshop space, a theater, and a resource hub.
Several upcoming classes and events were highlighted:
Paint & Sip – February 14, 2026 ($30 per person / $55 per couple)
ART Camp Creativity – Spring Break, March 9–13 at the Boys & Girls Club
Children’s Theater – Grades 3–9, offered June–July
ARTSFest – Tentatively September 26, 2026
ART Ball – October 3, 2026 at the Old Tobacco Warehouse (raffles and auction)
ARTS Café – Up to 16 guests, Saturdays and Thursdays beginning October 16, 2026 ($25 per person), located at NAC Annex, 141 Walker
Volunteer forms will be distributed.
A potential collaboration with the Photo Club was discussed: each member could submit one photo for a show with a possible theme of “Extreme Weather.”
Frames would not need to match, and photos could be sold.
Lisa Steed – Falling Star Gallery
The gallery hosts a variety of art forms.
To book a show, artists must provide a narrative and meet additional criteria.
Lisa will host the Terry Steed Memorial Show, titled “What the Constitution Means to Me.”
Entry fee: $15
Dates: August 2 – September 26, 2026

Elton requested volunteers to research photography contests hosted on Texas‑based websites.
