NPC Minutes
Date: 4/7/2026
6pm Elton Scifres called meeting to order with 17 members and guests present.
Announcement made in regards to Angelina Photographic Association exhibiting "Places of Worship” photos, shown through May, at Museum of East Texas in Lufkin. Also featuring amazing exhibit of French Impressionism through month of May.
Business
Rebecca Fleck presented printed out Time Line and instructions on Nature Theme submissions to Cole Museum for our NPC. Instructions included Envelopes with photo members number on front. Inside envelope, up to 6 photos per member may be submitted. 6 x 9 inches max photo size. On back of photo, must include:
· Member number, not name
· Photo number
· Name of Photo
· Label if photo is old or new (taken after 4/21/25).
May 27 is last date to drop off photos to Cole Center.
June 2, Cole Center will have juried selected photos ready to pick up. Also will be a NPC meeting 6pm.
June 30 is deadline for delivery of framed photos to Cole Center.
July 7 is opening of show at Cole Center.
July 10 is opening reception.
Program
Jay Schwartz presented an interesting program featuring Street Photography. Jay discussed Street Photography by approach, such as storytelling, documenting everyday life vs Aesthetic/Formal approach, focusing more on visual elements of a scene.
Monthly Challenge
Rebecca Fleck conducted April’s photo challenge featuring “Texture”. 1st place tie went to Robert’s Cactus and Guy’s Woodgrain photos. 3rd place tie went to Ron Thill’s Rusty Latch and Toni Roddey’s Iris with moisture Drops. Next month’s May 5th photo challenge will be “Rocks”, chosen by Robert and Guy.
Ending the meeting, Rebecca Fleck introduced idea of a field trip for NPC to the Caddo Mounds in Alto, Texas.
